Sergio is a Clio-winning director and Emmy-winning writer with a sharp instinct for performance-led comedy. Having spent more than a decade in the Los Angeles comedy scene at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, he brings a writer’s understanding of character, an actor’s feel for performance and an impeccable sense of comic timing to everything he directs.

His work is smart, distinctive and beautifully observed, finding humour in recognisable human behaviour rather than forcing the joke. Sergio has created films for brands including Google, Amazon Prime, Coca-Cola, Toyota, Under Armour, Heineken and Smartwater, and has worked with an extraordinary range of talent including Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston, Jordan Peele, Aubrey Plaza and Tom Brady.

More recently, Sergio created the viral series Will AI Actors Replace Us?!, using comedy to explore the limitations of synthetic performance. The films have amassed more than 45 million views, underlining his ability to turn a timely cultural conversation into genuinely entertaining, highly shareable work.
