Joost Biesheuvel

Joost, a composer who turned to filmmaking with deep roots in music and songwriting. In his work, he intensively explores the intersection between film, music and poetry. His visual translations are highly imaginative through the use of metaphors and cinematic techniques. Joost won a Young Directors Award at Cannes 2022 and his brilliant debut short ‘Cats and Dogs’ has been awarded 11 times including awards for best music, which he composed. His objective is clear: further explore the boundaries between film, music and poetry and never forget the importance of play.
